The beauty at Jason Wu was golden. Between the gilded barrette embellished ponytails to the glittering eyes, the look had the King Midas touch.

Marlene Dietrich and sunshine inspired makeup artist Diane Kendal to dream up gleaming, winged lids. To get them she traced the outer and inner lash lines and the crease with dark brown pencil, leaving the center clean, then going over the lines with bronze shadow, and blended it out past the outer corner. Then she added the sparkle, first dipping her brush into water before plunging it into gold glitter and brushing it from the lash lines to the crease. She applied black liquid liner very close to the lashes and mascara to give the eyes definition. Kendal added soft peach blush to the apples of cheeks for a bit of a glow.

Photographer Helmut Newton inspired hair stylist Odile Gilbert to create a super sleek low ponytail. To get the necessary shine, she applied shine spray to flat ironed hair--both the models' natural hair and their foot-long extensions--then slicked it down with pomade before gathering it at the nape of the neck, and setting it with hairspray. That’s when she affixed the dazzling hair accessory to the base of the ponytail.
