If I could take a vacation into a photographer's world, I'd want to enter the dreamy pop images of Zoey Grossman. Her pictures have struck the balance between not-too-pretty and not-too-gritty, showing babes like Chloe Norgaard making a sandwich or Charlotte Free exhaling smoke. Grossman's tough glamour has landed her gigs with Billabong, Vans, Citizens of Humanity, while her editorial images appear in tons of international publications.

I asked Grossman to fill out our artist questionnaire in hopes of getting a little closer to figuring out exactly what gives her photos that can't-look-away quality. See what she thinks below while you check out all our favorite images in the gallery below.

I got started as an artist
... at birth? My parents really encouraged art and indulging my creative side from a very young age, so I can't quite remember the exact start time. I did start out as a painter and illustrator before I became a photographer.

If I had to explain my work to a stranger I'd say... it's colorful, sexy, and playful, with a little bit of black magic.

Three things that have inspired me this week are... listening to my '90s high school mixtape, endless hours looking at Inez and Vinoodh's and Mert and Marcus' photos, cleaning out my closet, literally.

My ultimate muse is: life--noticing and appreciating the small details. And people. I really love people, and how everyone is so unique.

My studio soundtrack includes... a lot of '90s rock and '70s slow jams. I also really love Starsystem and Thomas Azier.

The weirdest thing that's ever happened to me on the job was... honestly too many things to count! I don't even know what weird is anymore!

My favorite artists are:
Gustav Klimt and Egon Schiele.

The best art book is: there are way too many to count, but I hope to make an art book soon that is pretty great too.
