Surf and Skate culture own west coast style. We stopped in for some original L.A. freshness with one Dog Town legend, Tony Alva, at his store in Little Ethiopia. The 2 year old venue will become the home of an in-house gallery starting in March with a show from graffiti mogul Shepard Fairey and the infamous photographer Glen E. Freedman. Until then you can still pick up old school skate decks, slick surfboards, Alva gear and some unbeatable stories from the man himself.

This winter San Francisco is hot! The Bay Area has been breaking thermostats and raising eyebrows with amazing art shows at everywhere from Receiver Gallery to RVCA's VASF store... but the must see of the season is Olafur Eliasson's mind bending "Take Your Time" at SFMoMA. The show will be at the museum until late February sooo you dudes and dudettes better grab your shades and head out west. Between the technicolor light shows, space shifting grotto, interactive water works, and the literal walk in freezer, you will really need to take your time so that your senses can catch up.

Our favorite kind of shoot-out happens with Polaroids and pretty girls, and that's exactly what we got this morning, when two young models raided the NYLON lobby to duke it out for a photo spread. Meet Megan, 18 (top) and Ilona, 19 (bottom). They're both beautiful willows, but only one can score the job. Will it be Meg, the Missouri native who says that eating tongue in Japan was "the best experience of my life" ? Or Ilona, the Chicago transplant from Poland who says her biggest addiction is "red bean pastry buns from Koreatown - I will go there like every day!" Check the March issue of
