Winter Essentials
13 12 07 - 12:07 Hi guys! So bundling up in the cold months can be a task sometimes, but remember that staying warm is definitely more crucial than suffering for fashion. These days, I like to take cues from my local Eastern Mountain Sports rather than the designer throngs of Soho when looking for winter items. As a huge fan of hiking and camping, here are some outdoor tips I've always followed but found just as life-saving when adapting them to my everyday wardrobe.~ Jinnie Lee
What would Thora Birch do?

- Socks/Tights: Wear synthetic liner socks underneath wool socks before slipping your feet into boots. Not only will they keep your toes toasty, but the synthetic fiber will keep your feet sweat-free. Also, funky tights are amazingggg... I have jeans with holes in them that I will only wear if I have cool tights on underneath.

- Hat: They say most of your body heat is lost through the top of your head so put a lid on it. I'm personally lovin the trapper style (see previous post).
- Lip Balm: Oh man, the scent of Rosebud Salve is what I imagine my heaven to be like. Much cuter than Vaseline and the best part is you can literally use this stuff anywhere for chapping or dry patches.

- Boots: Invest in a solid pair of wellies and they will be be good to you throughout the year. I swear I only slip on snow and ice whenever I don't wear my wellies. These are Emilio Pucci -- the trademark psychadelic swirly Pucci prints never disappoint. I bought mine from Couture.zappos.com.

- Stay away from cotton if you know it's gonna be wet and slushy out there. Cotton will take forever to dry and you will end up cold and miserable, possibly sick. Stick with wool or synthetic fabrics like fleece and nylon!!!! ;)
