Miu Miu a Go Go
It’s no secret that NYLON girls are a little too obsessed with Miu Miu: Between Rajni’s shoes and Tracy’s bags and my pink sparkly skirts, it’s almost like we were begging Miuccia Prada to ditch Lohan and Dunst and throw us into the campaign.
So when Miu Miu released new photos today, of their first boutique in Taiwan, we pounced.
First of all, none of us have been to the island region of Taiwan, which is both beautiful and unique - it boasts its own dialect, regional cuisine, and wildlife preserves.
Second, it’s always neat to see how fashion translates across cultures, and we bet Taiwanese girls would style their Miu Miu stuff totally different than we would.
And third, we think that Chinese street style will be a huge influence on global fashion in the next decade, and we’re dying to see how that goes.
In the meantime, we’ll have to settle for images of the new Miu Miu boutique, which you can see below. xo faran.
PS: Remember that episode of Friends when Joey goes to Ross, “So you’re going to China and you’ll get to eat Chinese Food!” and Ross goes, “Yeah Joey, but over there, it’s just called food.”

In Taipei, Miu Miu is located in a shopping mall. We get Cinnebons; they get Prada. Go figure.

The universal language of “I can’t afford what I want.”

“All girls have fashion in common.” ![]()

Taiwan doesn’t consider itself a part of China today. It’s its own republic and Taiwanese people have a different identity to Mainland Chinese people. Different style, different history etc. They consider themselves Taiwanese. Not Chinese.
Just like Americans consider themselves Americans and not a colony of the British.

That is the pinnacle of the Chinese style. I live in China and I see girls dressed like that everyday for any type of function with their shlubbin bf in adidas pants.
