Back In the Day, Be Your Own Pet.
So I was reminiscing, looking through old photos, before I set off for the tour… and came across these photos.
These are from 2 summers ago when Be Your Own Pet played at the Knitting Factory. I originally found out about BYOP because of their appearance on the cover of the NYLON June/July Music Issue, and immediately was drawn to them because of their high energy head-banger tracks. I also recall reading somewhere lead singer of BYOP, Jemina, being compared to Karen O of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and after this, I new I had to check them out and see them live. Sure enough I was wowed and impressed with their mature yet kiddish sound and performance. That’s why I am so stoked to see them live playing songs from their most recent album “Get Awkward”. Hopefully I will be able to give you some behind the scenes footage of the rocking out. Peace ~Spacey Tracy xx
