How much is too much perfume?

So the other day I stepped into a friend’s apartment and I almost gagged because she had sprayed way too much perfume. Her scent had clearly permeated throughout her space and I imagined suffocating in the horrendence piquance.

I left early thank god, but I still feared her scent had seeped into my clothing, like the way cigarette smoke does, and was travelling with me, leaving a trail of nasty.

Don’t get me wrong, I think the power of scent is phenomenal. I thoroughly relish in certain smells when they remind me of fond memories or significant people.

Then again, sometimes it takes me back to a dark time, like how I hated the smell of an ex’s cologne.

So how much is too much? There’s the spritz-your-wrist-and-rub-them-together maneuver. Also, the spritz your neck/clavicle zone from a fair distance. And my personal fave, spritz the air in front of you and “step” into the falling mist. But I can picture this particular friend of mine dipping into a tub of perfume. So what’s a fair way to know you’ve put on enough? Is there even a way to determine? Woof.

Smell ya later~ JINNIE xx

I always get super-peeved when I am olfactorally assaulted by people’s inability to wear the “less is more” quantity of scent. I find that people who wear too much scent are those who want to be seen and heard; those desperate for attention. Why make people sick, when you can leave a mysterious waft in your wake, so that people around you are left captivated, wondering who you are and what you’re wearing?!

my mother (lol, its kinda bad when yuo start a sentence with those two words, its reminds me of my preschool adventure days) says that the indicater is when your scent enters a room before you do instead of lindering slightly after you’ve left.
that pretty much sums it up for me.
