My Fair Ladies

My skin’s a bit fair so when I stay out in the sun , I don’t tan, I crisp.
I rightfully avoid rays the best I can, slather on the SPF, and prefer staying pale all throughout the summer months than dealing with painful stings. And though it would be nice to get some sunkissed color once in a while, I just can’t do it. But seeing there are more porcelain beauties unabashedly baring their soft skin (see above Evan Rachel Wood, Kelly Osbourne, and Michelle Trachtenberg), I’m thrilled they can show the pretty in pale. x JINNIE LEE

I too am an alabaster doll and have always been proud of it, even during the tanning craze that (I hope) is dying out. I feel regal and delicate and feminine with such fair skin and I take really good care of my skin as well. Always have, no ciggies, and only water and green tea for me. And truthfully, even when I have been falling-in-the-ditch-drunk, I always made sure I never fell asleep with my makeup on. I mean, you can replace just about any old body part these days, but you get one skin. My grandma said to me, “Treat your skin like a silk scarf, not like a gym sock!” Very wise. And my regime must be working because I’m 25 and there are 16 year olds who look more haggard.
