Diane visits Zune LA and eats a slice of pizza.
ZUNE LA is here to stay. Microsoft’s music media player known as the Zune has finally crossed over into my territory. For starters, up until 6 months ago I really didn’t have much Zune experience. I’ve been an Ipod user for as long as I’ve owned an mp3 player and here comes this newbie/underdog vying for my support. It’s gone through some cosmetic and software updates since I last remembered (again, 6 months ago) and actually works really well. And trust me, I am the biggest hater of them all so when the haterade stops flowing, you know I’m for real.
Anyway, for a while now, Jamaal Layne (Zune LA’s big man on campus) has been designing a space/venue/outpost for party- and concert-goers. Yesterday, he finally unveiled the Beverly Blvd. building to the curious. I walked in as Sean Patrick djed, food met mouths, and people gaped at the beautiful interior. I was floored too-it’s hard to believe this place will eventually be concert and party heavy. It’s just too nice for me to destroy! A lot of labor went into making it perfectly Los Angeles; there was even a life-sized zen garden out in the second floor patio. I’m curious as to what the future holds but with a schedule already packed, I’m sure Jamaal will have no problem getting the rambunctious LA crowd out.

meh. i doubt that zune’s pandering to semi-connected l.a. hiptards will make any real dent in ipod’s marketshare.
