Happy Birthday, Thurston Moore!
After playing on Marc Jacobs’ runway, getting name-checked in Juno, and having a new line of tees sold at Urban Outfitters, Thurston Moore has had quite a year – but it officially ended on Wednesday night.
That’s when Thursday flipped from 49 to 50 years old, with a giant room of scenesters to celebrate.
The place was the 303 Gallery in Chelsea, where even Kirsten Dunst managed to come say hi – and besides a bar, there was a truck serving hot dogs, and another one with organic ice cream from a farm – OMG.
Thurston was DJing, but he got interrupted, by the cake at left and some black and silver balloons, and the whole room started singing and cheering.
Then it started to pour, and everyone huddled underneath a tent outside before it basically got blown away… but that’s another story. xo faran
