Prada Goes to San Fran

Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008

Attention, Fashion Dreamers of the West Coast:

Prada just opened a new flagship store, and it’s in sunny San Francisco.

The home base of The Gap and Sephora is often noted for its super-stylish residents, who started bending fashion rules on Haight-Ashbury in the ’60s.

Now the clothes are getting way more expensive, but also, of course, more gorgeous.

Hit up this new venue for those coveted black lace tights Prada sent down their runways for this Fall…

And of course, those amazing handbags -

Though for most of us, that’s a look-but-don’t-touch kind of situation.

Head to www.prada.com for more details.

Stripes Strike Again

Monday, July 21st, 2008

At left, Gabrielle Union at the La Perla fashion show in Miami.

At right, Gwen Stefani in the Sweet Escape video.

Guess it’s okay to pull out your striped Gap henleys from last season.  Big spenders can check out the striped gown from Giles Deacon.  xo faran.

Lemon Aid

Friday, July 18th, 2008

Molly painted her nails yellow in the fashion closet.

We’re sort of in love with it, especially because it coordinates in a Kool-Aid kinda way with her pink blouse.

The color she used is from OPI, and although we love that polish, it’s a little expensive, so we went hunting for super cheap yellow nail polish at CVS.

You know what we found?

NOTHING.  No Wet ‘n Wild yellow polish; no New York Look yellow polish.

If you know where to buy it cheap, tell us here.

In the meantime, you can either pay up or try what we did:  White polish with yellow food coloring.  It’s not perfect but it’s pretty easy…

Huge thanks to Gawker for these first looks of Gossip Girl‘s new ad campaign.

The thing is, they’re so true.

Juicy Wants You To Talk About Yourself

Friday, July 18th, 2008

Juicy Couture has a new survey up on their website.

They ask questions about what you like to buy, how you like to shop, and where you like to go.

Obviously, they’re just trying to get information on how to make more money for sales, but at the same time, it’s smart to ask NYLON readers because… well… if you’ve been dying for a pair of white shredded cutoffs under $90, and you tell them about it, you just might see them on their website in a few weeks.

And also, maybe you can convince them to stop putting “JUICY” on the butt of all their pants.

But maybe that’s just wishful thinking.

Still, we’ve taken the survey and put in our own Juicy Couture request:  More charms, shaped like records, shaped like Twizzlers, and (obviously) shaped like NYLON!  xo faran
