Happy Birthday, Sephora!

Sephora sent us this giant lipstick to commemorate their 10th birthday. Sadly, it is made of plastic and not actual lipstick.

We told you in May that the search for the next ROXY spokesmodel was coming to New York this summer, but if you somehow forgot that over the span of two months, we understand.
So now, a friendly reminder– and this time write it down on some paper, a Post-It, or your hand:
This weekend, the ROXY Follow Your Heart tour makes its final stop in Long Island, which means if you’re in the area and interested in fronting the brand of surfer chicks and serious playfulness, then you should stop by.
Friday marks their final casting call at the Roosevelt Field Mall, so go if you can–
Even if you don’t score the ultimate prize, there are still plenty of ROXY giveaways for consolation.

I’ve been wearing glasses since I was ten, but despite my various fashion obsessions, I’ve never wanted kooky glasses.
They always seemed a little too much, a little too silly, a little too Annie Potts when I wanted to be Molly Ringwald.
But these new specs from Manish Aurora might make me change my mind. The British designer known for his insanely embellished dresses and coats has taken his Bollywood fetish one step further, encrusting plain eyeglasses with bright lucite casings, charms, and oddly shaped lenses.
My favorite pair are the ones at left with hearts on the side.
They’re way cuter than a Chanel logo, and probably cheaper, too. xo faran.

Ah, more Miley Cyrus.
Today, the teen cutie is carrying the same bag from The Sack, but with a different vintage-looking nightgown and a very different expression.
It seems like she’s saying, “I’m so over this,” through her squinted eyes.
Which is probably true, because when we were seventeen, we were so over everything, all the time.
Miley also appears to be over washing her hair, because she’s sporting matted, long waves that look very cool but also very morning-after.
Of course, there’s another possibility we haven’t considered:
That Miley has suddenly befriended Cory Kennedy and is copying her every move.
This seems totally likely. Whoa.
One of our favorite art exhibits opening this month is a series of never-bef0re-seen photos of Marilyn Monroe.
The show is at the Andrew Weiss Gallery in Los Angeles, but if you can’t make it out there, the gallery has gone high tech and put the whole show online!
Click through to their website, and then see the exhibit, called Forever Young.
Our favorite shot is this beach pinup capture from the photographer George Barris.
He calls it “Green Towel Stretched” but I think we would have gone with “Starfish.”
Pretty gorgeous, yes?
