Cherry Bomb

Tuesday, August 26th, 2008

MAC’s just-released Cult of Cherry collection:

A) Is full of deep reds and dark  purple lip colors.

B) Includes a quad with fall’s big eye color, yellow.

C) Features Erin Fetherston in its promo video.

D) All of the above.

And the correct answer is…D. The Berkeley grad took a break from her spring 2009 collection to play a–surprise!–fashion designer in the short film. Maybe Kirsten Dunst taught her a thing or two about working it in front of the camera.

Bonus points if you can name the guy playing the interior decorator (hint: it’s his actual day job).

LeSportsac Tries To Tag

Monday, August 25th, 2008

Presenting the latest attempt at viral marketing:

LeSportsac “tagging” lamp posts all over lower Manhattan with giant advertisements / stickers.

We’re not quite sure what to make of this craziness, but here are some thoughts:

1.  New York City must be making a ton of money off this legal graffiti.

2.   That LeSportSac print being unzipped is really, really cute.

3.  How many people are actually going to look down at the street to see this ad?

More on this tres important story as it develops.

And now, back to watching our podcasts on iTunes.

xoxo.

Twenty By Twenty

Thursday, August 21st, 2008

First Insound gave us twenty reasons to buy a new band T-shirt with its Insound 20 project. Now the online music retailer is offering up an equal number of reasons to party tonight.

To celebrate today’s official launch of the limited-edition collection, they’re throwing a fiesta at NYC’s Fontana’s, with all twenty of the featured bands contributing to the playlist for the night.

That means tunes from She & Him, Death Cab, Grizzly Bear, and Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, among others.

The party goes from 7 to 10 tonight, and they’re keeping things classy with free Colt 45 and tequila.

What were you expecting?
