Tag! Warhol Homage on the Lower East Side

Spotted:

Campbell’s Tomato Soup Spray, a sticker created by the elusive MBW and tagged, en masse, on a street sign in the Lower East Side of New York.

There’s been a lot of discussion about what Warhol would be like today were he still alive - if he’d support, or even participate, in tagging, street art, and stickers.

I think the answer is yes, but obviously, he’d have to be paid for it:

Warhol was a business and a brand as much as he was an artist - in fact, some could argue that was his art - and spraying on a building you don’t own?

Not so lucrative.

Of course, Banksy’s making millions at auction now, so maybe I’m wrong.

Either way, tomato spray sounds really, really gross -

Unless it comes in a Bloody Mary.
