In April, designer Daryl K put up a sign in her Manhattan boutique that said “fuck the recession.”

Now it seems like she’s taking a different attitude:  If you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em.

The dress is oh-so-nineties, especially its strappy top and the winding seam down the bottom, rendered in a blue hue that’s so dismal it’s chic.

But the real punchline here is the price:

$620 before taxes.

That may seem expensive for a fashion statement about… well, you know, but you’ve got to appreciate the irony - another reference to the ’90s!

Anyway, if you’ve got Euros, it converts to something like $19.99, so you should totally go for it - you can even buy it online.   xo faran.
