At Least You’ll Never Get Lost
Thursday, September 25th, 2008
When I first saw Penfield’s new women’s jackets for winter, I thought that they were an eyesore.
And then an hour later, I was checking them out again.
And then a day later, I was searching their website to see when I could get my hands on that parka with the hot pink hood.
Am I crazy? Or are these color combos so bad they’re good?
OMG, Murikami Jeans
Thursday, September 25th, 2008
Tokyo store HK anytime has these Murikami jeans by Levis onsale.
They’re an extremely limited collaboration, and unfortunately, they seem to be available only in Japan.
We’re calling our spies at Levis right now to see if we can dig up a full image, or even a full pair of these jeans to shoot.
If not, well, it might be worth a DIY post, huh?
After all, how hard can it be to silkscreen some iconic, doped up flowers onto a pair of custom made and incredibly expensive men’s pants?
Wait, okay, don’t answer that…

Lisa Simpson Speaks to National Geographic
Thursday, September 25th, 2008This is the funniest thing we’ve read all day
, but it makes us wonder…
If NYLON were to interview Lisa Simpson for a future issue, what would we ask her?
Does she ever take off the pearls?
Is she a better skateboarder than Bart?
Or maybe even… hey, who did your hair?!
Tag! Warhol Spray Paint in Soho!
Wednesday, September 24th, 2008
This just in from reader Valentina:
“Ok, this is a totally awesome feature for NYLON.
I support any and all efforts to photograph cool graffiti, always.”
To prove it, she sent us three photos from the street:
They’re all posted paper with spray paint on top, and while one is very fashion-based, the other two are… well…
Nuts.
Check them out below, and remember:
If you see cool graffiti, send it along to faran@nylonmag.com

Wednesday, September 24th, 2008
Spotted: Jemina (formerly of Be Your Own Pet) and Thurston Moore recording a cover of “Sheena Is A Punk Rocker” for an upcoming episode of Gossip Girl.
Could this top Moore’s appearance on Gilmore Girls with Kim Gordon and their daughter? We can only hope…
Tag! Graffiti Cats in Paris
Wednesday, September 24th, 2008
NYLON reader Yoan Chen writes in with this news from France:
“Dear Faran,
I was in Paris a few days ago, and I kept spotting these graffiti drawings of cats all around Paris– along the Seine, by Bon Marche in the South of Paris etc.
They’re not exceptionally good technically, but they put a smile on my face and I hope they put a smile on yours too!
One might also ask how the artist managed to find such hard-to-reach yet visible spots to display his works!
One more thing:
I believe the graffiti artist seems to be going under the alias ‘M.Chat’ or Monsieur Chat.
a bientot,
Yoan xx”
Mon Dieu!
Who knew little kitties were being sprayed all over the City of Lights?!
