Hey guys! There was a great article in the New York Times today about the convergence between skateboard culture and street fashion called “Woosh! Another Shoe Destroyed”. Come read the article and flip through the audio slide show for some great shots of this ongoing trend. x JL
When I first saw Penfield’s new women’s jackets for winter, I thought that they were an eyesore.
And then an hour later, I was checking them out again.
And then a day later, I was searching their website to see when I could get my hands on that parka with the hot pink hood.
Am I crazy? Or are these color combos so bad they’re good?
Tokyo store HK anytime has these Murikami jeans by Levis onsale.
They’re an extremely limited collaboration, and unfortunately, they seem to be available only in Japan.
We’re calling our spies at Levis right now to see if we can dig up a full image, or even a full pair of these jeans to shoot.
If not, well, it might be worth a DIY post, huh?
After all, how hard can it be to silkscreen some iconic, doped up flowers onto a pair of custom made and incredibly expensive men’s pants?
Wait, okay, don’t answer that…

This is the funniest thing we’ve read all day
, but it makes us wonder…
If NYLON were to interview Lisa Simpson for a future issue, what would we ask her?
Does she ever take off the pearls?
Is she a better skateboarder than Bart?
Or maybe even… hey, who did your hair?!
Buzzin’ electro-pop-dance-rock band Passion Pit tore up Bowery Ballroom last night as opener for stage veterans French Kicks.
They are quite the act to see live and they will keep those happy feet moving in what my friend aptly calls “the dance pit.”
P.Pit will be playing some dates with Yelle next!
Check their myspace page for all the details.

This just in from reader Valentina:
“Ok, this is a totally awesome feature for NYLON.
I support any and all efforts to photograph cool graffiti, always.”
To prove it, she sent us three photos from the street:
They’re all posted paper with spray paint on top, and while one is very fashion-based, the other two are… well…
Nuts.
Check them out below, and remember:
