I was really confused when I first saw this graffiti tag all over West Broadway – polar bears?  Really?  Not save the economy or save the tabloid starlets or whatever?

But then I realized:

Like Luke, April, Fiorella, and me, this graffiti person is totally obsessed with LOST.

I’m fully expecting some follow up tags to read “SAVE AARON,” and “WHERE’S CLAIRE,” and “I’M LOSING MY MIND BECAUSE OF THIS DAMN SHOW.”

Historically, statistics say that whichever president sells the most Halloween masks just before the election generally wins that election.

But these Obama masks – as seen in a store window – are so creepy, maybe nobody will buy them because they’re freaky, and not because they don’t like Obama.

Meanwhile, a lot of girls we know are dressing up as Sarah Palin -

Because it’s hysterical!

And dressing up as John McCain would be… really boring.  Even if you’re voting for him.

So maybe this Halloween, it’s not about the election?

c) Tyra is shooting a Top Model episode

d) Holly is unconvinced that any of her mascaras actually work, so she’s called in the pros to test them out before she writes about any more of them.

Guess you’ll have to wait until the February ’08 issue of NYLON to find out!

CMJ 2008 Day Two stats:

8 bands

5 venues

1 foot massage.

Best moment: Los Fancy Free two members down, with the drummer stuck in the bathroom and the bassist stuck at the airport.

Somehow, both managed to arrive midset.

So last night, Chanel had this huge party to unveil their new art project with Zaha Hadid.

Guests like Kate Bosworth, Eve, and Sarah Jessica Parker had the opportunity to write their dreams and hopes on a Wishing Tree at the edge of the exhibit.

By the end of the night, it turned into something of a zeitgeist for what people really want right now.

At least, people who also really want to be at a Chanel party.
