To all you aspiring designers out there: Just because you’re still waiting for that Project Runway callback doesn’t mean all hope is lost.
Supima (think the touch, the feel of cotton…) is back with another Design Contest. Like last spring’s competition, this one is based off of the 1954 Wool Secretariat contest that introducted the world to Yves Saint Laurent and Karl Lagerfeld.
The second open call is tomorrow (Friday) at NYC’s Thompson Hotel. Bring a sample garment and a warm coat (you’ll probably be waiting in the cold for a while). If you’re selected, you’ll be invited to create an eveningwear piece for the January 14 runway walk-off. And after that, who knows? Global domination?

Just wanted to let any talented, up-and-coming designers know that we have just launched a pro bono project providing pro bono strategic consult, design expertise (logo, web), and public relations for a period of 6-12 months to a few promising designers. We’re searching for talented designers and will be accepting applications through Dec 3.
