Barbie had a pink Corvette and a ‘57 Chevy.
Scoobie Doo had a Mystery Machine, otherwise known as a pot-fumed bus.
And the Care Bears had Cloudmobiles.
But Jem? She got nothing. I used to pretend she rode the “subway” - my brother’s toy trains - when I played with her on my bedroom floor.
Then this weekend, I was walking down Avenue A in the East Village, and I saw this car parked in front of Tompkins Square Park.
And I thought, OMG, it’s Jem’s car!
Sadly, the Misfits were nowhere to be found, but I did spot a MisShape (Geordon) coming out of 7A after brunch. Sort of the same thing… xo faran
Hey dudes!
So hear me out….I was actually surprised at how much I liked the new Jonas Brothers’ video, Lovebug.
After all, it was masterminded by Partizan Entertainment, the same production company behind the works of Michel Gondry, Ace Norton, Ray Tintori, and other visionaires.
Furthermore, it features former NYLON cover star Camilla Belle!
The video plays like a cinematic flick and Miss Belle looks absolutely stunning.
It’s a breadth of fresh creative air for the JoBros who seem to have previously maximized their Disney quota. Watch the video here.

“Hey,
I’m a Philly gal (so I like to think I know my graffiti) studying in Brisbane, Australia for the year and I’ve come across some great examples of both spray paint and sticker tags.
The first ones are from the West End and the last three are in Fortitude Valley.
Hope everyone enjoys them as much as I do!

We’re especially impressed with the tagging reference to Aboriginal art at left.
Got more wall art?
Send it to faran@nylonmag.com

If I could import any piece of furniture for the NYLON office, it would be this incredible skateboard table from The Future Perfect.
It’s made from maple wood and skateboard wheels and axles (clean ones), and when you rotate the glass top, the wheels spin in whichever direction you’re turning.
Besides being practical (no reaching over the table to grab your magazine or beer), the piece is also a great way to show your love of boarding without a giant framed Dogtown poster on your wall.
Plus, you don’t need shin pads and a helmet to use it… yeah, I know most of you aren’t using those, anyway… xo faran
This morning, I got a pair of Koolaburra boots in the mail.
They’re short and shearling, with fringe circling their entire cuff - think Penny Lane goes to visit a reindeer farm.
The entire web department dug them - even Kelly, who hates, hates, hates UGGs - and Molly approved them from the fashion closet. Only Rajni shot them down with a quick “uhhh, no,” but she owns YSL wedges and wouldn’t be caught dead in glitter eyeliner, which is my secret staple. So I shrugged it off, knowing I’m more girl-next-door than girl-next-to-Gemma on the runway.
But then I saw this - a photo of Lauren Conrad wearing my new boots, all over Los Angeles.
And I was like, oh shit.
See, it’s one thing if your little sister has your boots. It’s one thing if the fashion news director of the coolest magazine you’ve ever worked at doesn’t want your boots.
But LC? In the same boots as me?
I don’t know…
But I bet you’re gonna tell me.

ps - oh god, Miley has them too…
