iKnow iLove You
Last night, I walked into the Soho Apple store to buy some software, and ended up feet away from the actual and true Gossip Girls -
Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, the show’s creators and executive producers, who pit frenemy against frenemy with the precision of a Valentino whip-stitch.
The audience was jammed with teenage girls wanting to get on Gossip Girl - “I have no idea, I’m not the casting director, but I think it’s pretty easy to audition,” deflected Stephanie - but since novelist Jay McInerney (whom you may recognize as Dan Humphrey’s uppity mentor) steered the conversation, it was less about starlets and more about the transition from novel to TV.
“We’re not doing things according to the books anymore,” admitted Josh, “Because in the books, each character turns gay and then straight like ten times. I don’t think the CW would be really into that…” and neither would most of the actors.
Josh also mentioned Georgina Sparks - aka Michelle Tractenberg - would be back. “It’s safe to say you haven’t seen the last of her,” he admitted.
We sort of hate Georgia Sparks but sort of love Michelle Tractenberg, so that’s a little ambivalent.
And finally, “Chase asked us if he’d ever have to hook up with Taylor [Momsen], because she’s so young and that would be weird…”
Little did he know…
