This Art is Bananas!
Murikami + Louis Vuitton proved an irresistible duo, so it’s no surprise other art-and-fashion smashes keep coming up.
In the catalog of OMG I Wish I Could Have Bought That:
-Julie Verhoeven’s fantastic graphics for Mulberry.
-James Jean’s nymphetic scrawls for Prada.
-Mondrian’s block print for YSL.
But now Banana Republic comes to the rescue, launching a series of tote bags for the NADA (New Art Dealers Alliance) and their New Museum benefit right now in Miami. In honor of their sponsorship, Banana Republic will producing several exclusive limited edition
tote bags featuring artwork from several artists being exhibited at the NADA art fair.
The six artists they picked include Chris Caccamise from Eleven Rivington in New York, Kon Trubkovich from Museum 52 in London/New York, Slawek Pawszak from Czarna Gallery in Poland, Olivier Babin from Frank Elbaz Gallery in Paris, Shinro Ohtake from Take Ninagawa in Tokyo and William O’Brien from Shane Campbell Gallery in Chicago.
Also, a special tote will be produced with artist Ugo Rondinone’s signature “Hell Yes” artwork - which pretty much sums up our feelings about this entire collaboration.
