Natalia Fabia will tell you that when she says “hookers”, she means “my friends”.
And that her new show, Hooker Dream Escape, really isn’t about sex - rather, it’s about special places and safe settings.
Okayyy…
The paintings are certainly striking, but to say they’re not sexual is a bit of a stretch.
We’re still fascinated by them - and would pay a visit to her show at Culver City’s Corey Helford Gallery if we weren’t on the other side of the country…
“Hey Faran,
I saw this last week while on vacation in California.
I don’t remember where exactly I saw it, but it was under a bridge near downtown Los Angeles.
Enjoy.

Thanks Keltyn - I like that you crawled under a bridge to get your shot. Once in London, I jumped over a fence to get mine. If you’ve got graffiti, send it to faran@nylonmag.com

Model Alexandra Richards had an art opening last night at the Mina Gallery in Soho! Here’s some of her work.

Attention, Upper East Siders:
The cast of the Gossip Girl spinoff has been announced, and playing the role of ’90s teen queen Lily Van Der Woodsen is none other than…
Brittany Snow.
NYLON has a long love affair with Brittany - Marvin cast her in 2005 for his first music video shoot with The Academy Is, and we interviewed her this year about her new projects in theater and political activism. And gosh, was she good (and surprising) in Nip / Tuck last year, when she played a teen neo-Nazi - something so far from her actual personality, she should have gotten an Emmy.
But… does Brittany really look like Lily Van Der Woodsen? She just seems way more… fun.
What do you think about Brittany Snow being Serena’s back-in-time mother?

Twenty years ago, Mark Talucci and Todd Elliott imported their first rattan handbag from Indonesia to the states.
It looked something like this, and was practically perfect in every way (great shape, amazing print, unique hardware…).
In a few years time, the duo would come up with their own trademark bag - aka The Sak - and go on to become one of the largest handbag brands in the country.
Today, the company has an eco-friendly collection (sakroots), a signature pattern (the “peace print”), and some celeb followers, but hasn’t gotten around to re-releasing the original bag.
To which we say, do it! Because there’s a reason why it’s a classic…Check out the full timeline here.
