Project Runway

There’s a little dance that happens before every New York fashion show.

It’s called “the unveiling,” at least by me and my friends, and here’s what happens:

Before the show, the runway’s covered in a giant piece of plastic.  It keeps it clean when fashion editors and celebs clomp all over it to get to their seats.

Then just before the show, some guys come and roll up the plastic, being extra-careful not to touch the actual runway.

It’s a familiar fashion week ritual that means “the show is this-close to starting, so you’d better sit down.”

And at Preen this morning, it was actually quite beautiful.  xoxo faran
