Twenty years ago, Mark Talucci and Todd Elliott imported their first rattan handbag from Indonesia to the states.
It looked something like this, and was practically perfect in every way (great shape, amazing print, unique hardware…).
In a few years time, the duo would come up with their own trademark bag – aka The Sak – and go on to become one of the largest handbag brands in the country.
Today, the company has an eco-friendly collection (sakroots), a signature pattern (the “peace print”), and some celeb followers, but hasn’t gotten around to re-releasing the original bag.
