Hear Me Now: Chill Out

Delicate. Pretty. Haunting.
This week in new music, you get all three (and then some) with Marissa Nadler, Bosque Brown, and Laura Barrett.
Each has its quirks:
Nadler’s new album Little Hells sounds like a Victorian-era muxic box left open for hours.
Bosque Brown comes from the Spektor/Newsom school of warbled singing, which she puts to good use on Baby.
Barrett, like Newsom, eschews traditional instruments, plucking an African thumb piano instead throughout her debut album Victory Garden.
But the common denominator? Lush, beautiful music that will help ease you into the early-spring thaw…xxRebecca
