Dear Lourdes!

Can a twelve-year-old be sultry?

Is it wrong we’re even asking?

Because when New York Magazine reported the news this morning that Lourdes Ciccone Leon – tween daughter of Madonna – would spend her entire summer in New York City, we immediately thought about how the London schoolgirl is, quite possibly, the most beautiful person we’ve ever seen.

She’s also got crazy fun style, incredible hair, a really neat stepdad (ex-stepdad?), and a birthdate well after 1990.

So should Lourdes be considered a budding style icon, the way 12-year-old Charlotte Casiraghti was ten years ago, and 14-year-old Natalie Portman before her?

Or is it just, like, ew?

Let us know in the comments section – and Lourdes, if you’re reading this, you can totally be a NYLON intern… but not until summer of 2017.

NOT too young to be a style icon! She’s budding, yes, but hey, style is eternal, not age-capped. What a beauty. Hope she’s got the brains + personality, too. :)

Too young… yes, she’s cute, but I think it’s inappropriate and unfair to put that type of stigma/so-called “responsibility” on a CHILD. Let her have fun and be a “normal” kid this summer, because you know she’s finally able to escape the House That Madge Built.

No one is too young or too old to be a style icon, in my opinion.

i like her but i feel like her mother forces her to look like Mini-Me. And by Mini-Me i mean an almost exact 12 year old replica of Madonna.

  9. nina Says:

I agree, I think she dresses like everyone else, not enough to be considered a style icon…

Give it a couple more years and she will be, but right now.. no.
She has to develope her own style first, which will take a little more maturing.
She is fairly pretty, so once she figures out what her style is, I expect good things from this young girl.

Young? Yes. Gorgeous? Yes. Its people like this that are fun to see sometimes. Its people like her that become either beautiful fashionista socialites or druggies or both, but I am interested in seeing what will become of this beautiful girl.
