Van Go Away?
Usually, the NYLON office talks about jeans, bands, shoes, and bad dates.
Today, the NYLON office is talking about Vincent Van Gogh and his gay love affair gone horribly wrong.
A new study says Vincent’s ear - which everybody knows he sliced off himself in a fit of mental illness - was actually severed by Mr. Gaughin during a duel.
Van Gogh was so in love with Gaughin, he made up the story about cutting off his own ear… so PG wouldn’t get in trouble.
Do you buy the theory?

that’s not a new study, there’s been competing stories for decades about how he lost his ear.

if i brought that up in art history i would get bitch slapped by those critcal know it alls!! but its an interesting story line.

This is the third story I have heard…
my art teacher said he had epileptic seizures and he actually only cut off a little part of his ear, I think she said while shaving.
For some reason everyone was disappointed to learn he was not a crazy man?
I do not get it but o well…
