Christian Siriano Thinks You’re Cheap
We caught up with designer and NYLON TV star Christian Siriano last night to check out his Fall ’09 collection.
It’s unsurprisingly gorgeous, with lots of jewel tones, puffed shoulders, and short hemlines perfect for dancing. “You know, I like girls who look dressed for a good party,” explained Christian.
The collection was paired with the 24-year-old’s new Payless collection, which is – to use his phrase – fierce.
Serious heels, serious hardware, serious potential. “But I’m getting like, hate mail, because the shoes are priced at $30 – seriously, 30 bucks! – and people are sending me emails like, that’s too expensive, I would never pay $30 for shoes! And I’m like, are you kidding?! These are good shoes!”

OMFG! people are seriously sick! those shoes are amazing! and there only 30 bucks thats such a steal not often you find great shoes for only 30 bucks, im gonna buy 3 pair lol to support my boy C.S

He is one of my faves! I cannot believe people are crying over $30 shoes! Dear Christian, I will be paying way over $30 to get my hands on the whole collection–if I can find them in my area!

I am personally SO excited for the shoes line. It’s really not often you find great shoes for such a price, I find myself lucky when I get a cute pair for $60!

I agree! 30$ is NOT alot for good shoes. And if they look anything like those above ill probably buy all. my Alice & Olivia heels from there were 38.00 and they are STUNNING! better than paying 983820 for em. I love Christian and I’ll deff be buying a couple of pairs. Now I’m excited =D

That’s because they’re being sold at Payless. No one pays that much for shoes at payless. Personally, its the quality. So for a place like Payless, pricey is better. Think of its this way, its better than getting Louboutin pumps for like ,$325

i think christian is absolutely fabulous. He’s an amazing designer and we are lucky that he is offering his shoes for such an incredibly reasonable price- a steal, really. i certainly don’t have a large budget but i would easily spend $50 – $200 on a great pair of shoes, so to be able to snag a pair of christians for a measley $30 is unbelievable. THANK YOU MR. SIRIANO it can’t get any better than that.

I don’t know WHERE these people are shopping that they think $30 is outrageous for a pair of cute shoes like those above! I live in Ohio and don’t buy Loboutins ( <—sp?) or anything but even I know that $30 is dirt cheap for a good, cute pair of shoes! If I can find them in my area I already wanting those with the ankle strap and chains badly! LoL, rock on Christian!

$30 for shoes is entirely reasonable. I work in a major department store and the only shoes we sell in that price range are flip flops…and even at that, lets face it, a pair of Rainbows will run you damn near $50.
And a pair of shoes from such a designer? Consumers are completely unaware of how lucky they are that designers like Christian Siriano are even teaming up and making merchandise for people who prefer to shop at $30\pair. Remember the days when all Payless carried were LA-Lights?

True, the RUNWAY shoes are incredible (I saw them back in February), but according to Racked! the actual collection for commercial release is TONED DOWN from their f-i-e-r-c-e counterparts. Lame.

Aww… and I wanted those crazy chains and studs on my shoes! Oh, and ~$30 is incredibly fair for shoes so long as they’re well made. With heels that high, you can’t afford to take any chances.

OMG I can relate. I really like shopping too… but mostly grocery store shopping, though. lol it was mostly for those automatic coupon dispensers… those things were great!! XD Did they ever have those things around you? I’d yank out hundreds of coupons and get in trouble. lol wow… random rant. anyway, nice blog.

Even though the leather is nearly new and the heels are barely worn, we need a new pair of shoes! So we reach for the mouse and spend hours online searching our favourite shoe store for this seasons shoes.
