If you live in Minnesota, you finally have a new Senator:

The Supreme Court ruled today that Al Franken, the comedian turned politician, will take the vacant senate seat after a hotly contested race.

The Minnesota native and Saturday Night Live star is a political activist who ran under the Democratic Farmer Labor Party.

Franken is a creator and former host of Air America, a left-wing radio station that also featured Janeane Garofalo.

Though (unlike Garofalo) he never guest-starred on episodes of The West Wing, he’ll soon have a pretty good view of it from his new job in Washington, DC.

Congrats, Senator Franken!

While in the Hamptons this weekend, Betsey Johnson told a New York Magazine reporter that she was retiring after her September show.

She’s already got her successor in mind, and we’re sure he’s great, but…

Can Betsey Johnson exist without Betsey?!

For years, stylish hipsters have carried Army / Navy helmet bags with their belongings - at $20, the waterproof, rip-proof totes were a good bet for just about every daytime occasion.

Now TopShop has their own spin on the trend, and it’s pretty great:

An easy recruit into your wardrobe, if I’ve ever seen one.

The former NYLON cover girl is in fact wearing jeggings, the jeans-and-leggings hybrid embraced by TopShop and Lee Jeans, and designed here by Niki Biki, whose version includes a painted on pocket, and retails for $33.

It is now just a matter of time before Lindsay Lohan’s legging line, which we think is called 6267 but is probably not, debuts their own pair, on Lindsay herself.
