Shine Control

Melissa’s new shoes are rubber, waterproof, and studded with Swarovski crystals.

They’re a collaboration with J. Maskrey, a former make-up artist who pioneered the concept of “adhesive jewelry.” (When Karen writes the “K” on her chest in Mean Girls with rhinestores?  It’s like that.)

They’re also onsale for £200, which is the American equivalent (at least, today) of about $318.50

But isn’t the point of a Melissa collaboration to make the shoes cheaper than they’d normally be?

Perhaps, as Chanel showed us last week, rubber is the new luxury material.
