This morning on Twitter, Alexa Chung complained that as an English girl in America, she didn’t quite know what to do on the Fourth of July.

And okay, it’s true today is all about celebrating the separation of America from our invasive British big brother.

But really, we love the UK, we’re happy about all our UK friends who live in the US, and especially for these British imports that have hit American shores in the past year:

1.  Alexa. Hi, welcome, love you.

2.  Adele. We’ll chase pavement with you anytime.

3.  TopShop.  Cheaper, faster to ship, and available for sale anywhere in the 50 states.

4.  Krissi Murison.  NYLON’s new music director moved here from London and kicks ass.

5.  Patrick & Peaches.  Welcome to the NYLON family, superstars.
