That Was Easy
The NYLON TV team has a big red button from Staples that, when pressed, shouts, “That was easy!”
I wish I had one now to announce the signing of Dum Dum Girls to Sub Pop Records. Because with just two releases (a 7″ and a 12″) and one live show, Dum Dum Girls’ head girl Dee Dee has pulled off quite a feat.
Which isn’t to say that I’m surprised - I may have frantically ordered the Dum Dum Girls EP back in March when I heard it was about to sell out - but just that I’m impressed. This is, after all, the same record label that first signed Nirvana, and The Shins.
And maybe the sudden backing from a respected indie label means that Dum Dum Girls will play a second show. Or a third, or a… xxRebecca
