Don’t you feel so bad for models?
It’s so tough being pretty, tall, skinny, and with a majorly increased chance of dating Shiah LaBouf.
Okay, so being a model isn’t so bad, but there’s one thing they’ve got to do that makes us cringe:
Wear really high heels. All the time. Even if they kill. Even if they fall.
Luckily, those girls are getting a boost courtesy of Vans. The sneaker brand is giving out free gear all summer at Delicatessen, the restaurant on Lafayette Street in NYC that’s famous (at least in our office) for their insane cheeseburger egg rolls.
Delicatessen’s created a “model lounge” where girls can take off their heels, put on some sneakers, and chill out. We snuck past the 5’8 height requirement to check it out and take some photos…
Obviously, the artwork was our favorite part – but we also really enjoyed watching all the models steal copies of NYLON!

Good day!
The name’s John, though most people call me ‘Freaky’.
I’m in my “teens” and kinda lost in the world at the moment…however, I’ve found the hippie “culture” and discovered that it fits me very well…I’m not trying to fit into it, it just kind of fitted onto me.
I have lots of questions, which hopefully some of the older and wiser people on this board will be able to help answer.
Here’s to hoping this board will be able to help me discover more of myself and fuel my beliefs.

In other words, we can not resist a bit of embellishment every now and then, especially on such a simple footwear style as the sandal. Basically they can be made more interesting by little things like beads, studs, and gems.
