True Love 7: Oh Deer

Last night’s episode of True Blood was, as Sookie Stackhouse would say, a doozie.  It was great TV, but now we know a little more than we wanted.  Like…

-Eggs is an amnesiac serial killer!

- Sam can turn into birds, too!

-Barry still listens for Sookie!

-Hugo sucks!

-Lorena sucks even more!

-Bill is fucking awkward in his flashback scenes!

And…

-Jessica looks way too good in lingerie for a home-schooled Bible thumper!

But really, the best thing about this episode was Godric, though how he’ll be able to save Sookie, Jason, and the vampires of Louisiana from the scariest church in America is still in the air – especially since, if he can stop the Light of Day stooge with one hand, it’s hard to understand how they’ve got him captive in the first place.

Thoughts?

    Godric is there by choice.

I want to know, where Eric went, since Godric is the one that is saving Sookie. Why Eric wants Sookie so badly, and who took Barry?

  4. Karen Says:

Is Maryanne Satan? Or just able to channel Satan’s evilness?

If the show follows the books there is a very clear explanation as to why Eric wants Sookie so bad- but I don’t want to give it away b/c it’s huge.

Sam can shift into anything he can focus on- which is super cool.

Eggs is creeping me out. In the book Eggs was a friend of theirs from highschool so this is new!

I really hate the flashback scenes! Yawn!!

Jessica is the nicest/sweetest vampire ever! I love her.

    Maryanne is a Maenad. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maenad)

oh dear! i just started watching the series, so i’m going to cover my ears and go ‘lalalala’

So Maryann can channel Satan and his desire, lust and anger. Makes sense. But can people sort of remember what she makes them do? Is that why Eggs found that place in the woods? Will he begin to remember more? And how will this effect his relationship with Tara, and what role will Tara play in Maryann’s plot for Sam? Why does Maryann want Eggs and Tara together?

Why does Eric want Sookie so badly, and for what? Is there a bigger plan that Godrik derived in order to attack the Fellowship of the Sun? Is he then there by his own will, only making the Fellowship think they captured him?

Is Jason really dead? And since he already confessed that his sister had a vampire boyfriend, why were they suprised that his sister was there as a spy? They can’t be that shocked that this is happening, especially enough to shoot him.

Where did Eric go? Did he contact Godrick and tell him to save Sookie? Who took Barry? And why?

This was the most exciting episode yet in this season and I can’t wait until next Sunday!!!!!!

i don’t think the flashback scenes are that bad. I kind of felt bad for Bill’s Maker. and yes i love jessica and Hoyt. Hugo and His vamp maiden didn’t seem to have as much passion as Bill and Sookie do. I really am curious to find out about why Eric wants her so bad, is it because he know’s she is more than just a telepath? or In a passionate sexual way? and Godrik is hot. I think all the story lines are going to come together, because, Maryann, did attack Sookie, which wouldn’t be easily captured under her spell like Sam and Daphne. Which could be why she is after Tara too, and likes destroying her house so much. I also think she doesn’t like Tara and Eggs together. oh and i also think because Lafayette drank Eric’s blood he could be immune to Maryann’s hypnotic’s as well, he was slighty supicious of Eggs last night. and Sam did say he could turn into a bird, it was just more difficult.

agree on all counts. plus, i would totally turn into a deer and NOT a huge ass pig if i could. there–i said it. now back to work.

ps. dear alan ball – i adore you! and you too, nylon blog!

i agree with andie. i think godric is there by choice, but who knows what’s up his sleeve in terms of plans for the rest of the vampires that are trying to save him. i wonder what will happen when rachel evan wood makes an appearance? i wonder what kind of role she will play in this already thickening plot?

i hope lafayette somehow redeems himself (as in being the way he used to be) especially now that he has eric’s blood in his veins. we see him coming back to his old self a little more through the episodes, but i hope he makes a full come back on his sassy attitude.

i hope the same for jason. his character story really bored me this season. plus, i don’t think he’s dead.

i think this past sunday’s episode was hella good. i can’t wait to see next week’s!

    I’m so angry.
My T.V. went out, so I won’t be able to watch until next week. I think it’s sort of weird that I compulsively watch these vampire shows though.
I think I prefered Eggs as a no-brain side character and Godric kind of deserves to die. If people with the IQ of Jason could take down this ‘all-powerful’ vamp, it really doesn’t leave much hope for the race.

(and I just can’t wait to see ‘gangsta’ Berry. That’s like all I think about when I see him)
