Sephora Goes Green
Today on Sephora, a slew of new Fall products hit the homepage.
There were curious things like lash liners (as opposed to eyeliners) and fun things like color-changing lip gloss (depending on your mood and skin tone), and frankly, the whole website looked a little more like Hogwart’s School of Beauty than ever before.
In the middle of the magic makeup mash, we spotted Sephora’s newest partnership with OPI:
A dark green nail polish.
Called Darkroom, the color is described as “an intensely dark and sexy shade that channels the drama of film noir.”
Forget that almost by definition, all film noir heroines must wear blood red lacquer on both their nails and lips – would you wear it?

the dark green is a great idea!!! it will look HOT against my skin color!
August 10th, 2009 at 2:32 pm
That’s a great color!
Maybe a pastel green would be a good color too!
August 10th, 2009 at 2:33 pm
Ironically, I’m actually wearing green nail polish. It’s not as dark, but the new OPI color will definitely be great for the fall season.
August 10th, 2009 at 2:33 pm
I think it’s a nice shade of green. Just as long as it’s not neon green then we are good.
August 10th, 2009 at 2:34 pm
Absolutely! I just ordered a dark green called Envy from Zoya; it’s a surprising kind of sultry, I think.
August 10th, 2009 at 2:40 pm
i have this color, and it’s not actually green like the sephora website shows. it’s a very dark, almost black, deep blue with an eeeeeeny weeeeeny bit of green.

Oh wow, I love it! I expect this shade to be big in the fall…
I would definitely wear it.
August 10th, 2009 at 2:45 pm
Bottle green is one of my favourite colours…and damn right I’d wear it on my nails….perfect for A/W – you could wear it preppy with next season’s tartan trend or gothic-chic with a black velvet dress and red lips.
I think you can get away with experimenting with nail polish so much more than most other types of make up!
August 10th, 2009 at 2:47 pm
Yes, yes, yes! Love the rich color! It’s too hard to find a nice dark green polish – all the ones out there are neon or Christmas tree colored.
August 10th, 2009 at 2:47 pm
This color or very similar one is in the strange.beautiful box nail polish set that nylon promoted, come on Nylon put something new and interesting up like you used to!
August 10th, 2009 at 2:54 pm
its wonderful:) my sister has already worn a similar color and its so crazy and different that its perfect on anyone:)
August 10th, 2009 at 2:59 pm
Very voguish! It world really stand out on a night out with a turquoise and sweet purple color slim long dress!
August 10th, 2009 at 2:59 pm
I actually love green nail polish. I’m wearing a minty color right now, but I went through an emerald phase for most of the summer, with some dark red in there. I really like this. It is pretty sexy.
August 10th, 2009 at 3:00 pm
oops! i meant would stand out not world!
August 10th, 2009 at 3:01 pm
THIS IS A HIDEOUS COLOUR. BUT, ANYTHING KARL LAGERFELD DOES IS GENIOUS… SO THE COLOUR HE USED FOR THE CHANEL SHOW IS PERFECT
August 10th, 2009 at 3:09 pm

I really like the look of this green its different from anything else out there. The color can go well with many different color palettes.
August 10th, 2009 at 3:28 pm
I love the color! Its very autumn/winter. I’m definitely going to be buying that soon
August 10th, 2009 at 3:32 pm

August 10th, 2009 at 3:32 pm

August 10th, 2009 at 3:43 pm
A lovely color for fall, winter, spring, and summer.
August 10th, 2009 at 3:44 pm
I love the dark greens of today. They were popular in the ’90′s and were really drab compared with these!
August 10th, 2009 at 3:46 pm
Love it. Dark green is my new black.
Buying that asap.
August 10th, 2009 at 3:49 pm
Oh wait, this color isn’t so hot after all. Ditto on the post about stephscloset.

i think its great. its warmer than black. but it still carries the drama of black, and its a really cool shade in general. i will definitely try it.
August 10th, 2009 at 4:44 pm
from the look at the color its nothing special, but maybe if I saw the color on someones nails I might change my mind.
August 10th, 2009 at 4:58 pm
lovelove. i don’t think i would wear any other shade of green though. neon, maybe, if that’s the style that’s going. but pastels? … mmm no.

dark green looks awesome on nails, i wont lie. however, if this colour doesn’t work out for some of you, you should try the l.a girls one. i got mine from urban outfitters and its a really great shade
August 10th, 2009 at 5:34 pm
Dramic for sure. Dark Green great color for fall/winter! Love it & will try any color.
Plus green represents a lot: going green, money & natures finest “green” plants.
August 10th, 2009 at 5:41 pm
this color is very disapointing in person, and i wasn’t that impressed by the opi version either. but rescue beauty lounge has a gorgeous hunter green, as does l.a. girl. most polish brands are coming out with dark green polishes now.
August 10th, 2009 at 6:11 pm
it’s not so bad, i would wear it, silver is out!
August 10th, 2009 at 6:19 pm
love the nail polish! i would like to match it with fuccia (pink) lipstick!
August 10th, 2009 at 6:24 pm
In theory the color is pretty, but having green on your nails always looks like your nails have fungus to me…
August 10th, 2009 at 6:59 pm
I LOVE IT!!!!
August 10th, 2009 at 8:07 pm
Love it!!! most definitely will buy it.
August 10th, 2009 at 9:37 pm
