The Flaming Lips
While Rebecca was backstage at Jenni Kayne watching models get made-up, I was inaugurated into Fashion Week a different way -
By getting dragged to the makeup chair myself.
That dare came courtesy of Rachel Antonoff, the up-and-coming cutie whose Spring ’10 collection might be called – and I mean this in the coolest possible way – Babydoll Flappers Try Stripping.
To go with the porcelain zombie vibe of the show – which you’ll see later this week in our gallery section – there was also a full range of cosmetic amazement, including slick glitter glosses by Theo Kogan of Armour Beauty, and the lipstick at left -
Revlon’s #663, aka Va Va Violet.
A little bit goth and a little bit silent film starlet, the lipstick seems to turn everyone into something of a screen queen. You can get it for about $6 at drugstores around the country – but you’ll have to wait until February to buy Rachel’s clothes to go with it!
