It takes a pretty big event to get me to put fashion week on hold.

Like, Jay-Z, Kanye, Rihanna, Beyonce, Diddy, Mary J. Blige, Pharrell, Santigold, Kid Cudi, and John Mayer big.

Which might explain why on Friday I, along with Katy Perry and Justin Timberlake, was in Madison Square Garden instead of Bryant Park.

The best part about it, beyond the big-name special guests and insane energy from the crowd, was that it was a benefit show for September 11, courtesy of Absolut Vodka.

So when Jay-Z shouted, “Make some noise for those that lost their lives so we could live ours,” just about everyone in the room gave a cheer – a deafening sound that you definitely don’t hear at your average fashion show. xxRebecca
