The Ting Tings Take America, Pt. 2
Why are the Ting Tings covered in paint? The latest from the British duo, who are in the midst of a cross-country tour with Pink:
Had a really relaxing week. The Pink touring schedule is a dream come true for us – you actually get days off!
I imagine she deserves it after so many albums, and we are happy for the rest. It definitely makes a difference to your performance when you’re not so tired all the time.
We just had a free day in Santa Fe, where we rented some convertibles and drove to the national park to look at historic sights. We climbed all the way up a mountain to realize we had gone up the wrong one, so all eight of us (us and our crew) sat ourselves down on top and just chilled out for a bit.
I got a bit worried about mountain lions and bears, but all we managed to see was one lonesome beetle.
We also did one of our paint parties with Adidas in LA…

We have done these ourselves from the beginning, back in Manchester, and they are one of our favorite things to do.
We get the audience to draw some art on our blank vinyl sleeves that are stuck to the wall, and it always turns out amazing – if not messy. We had UV paint this time, and it looked amazing under the black lighting.

We swallowed far to much of it whilst performing, but it was worth it to see the art that came out of it.

Today we are in Dallas, Texas. Last night we watched Inglourious Basterds, which was excellent, at the cinema, and we just did an 8 am kid kraddick radio interview and performance that went well, considering how early it was.
We’re going back to bed now for two hours before we go off to sound check at the Pink show. Looking forward to tonight, and we will be watching Pink again (it’s the fourth time).
Alas! A talented, strong women that is successful and doesn’t sell herself cheap!

Mm, love them both. And holy crap I’m stealing their paint party idea for my apt. Grab a couple friends, some paint, some beverages, and splash away. Woot!

That must be a great double bill, Pink and The Ting Tings. Quality rock/pop music, quality artistes/vocalists/musicians, stage presence.

You guys were simply amazing in Houston! Pink was also pretty good, I was like in awe the entire time. It made me realize how much I enjoy your music and how much I want to become a singer/musician etc. For sure I will try to go in the music bussiness. Thank you for all you do.
