Nothing Rhymes with Orange
Just before his infamous 90210 collection hit the runway in London, the designer Henry Holland passed me a present -
A tube of M.A.C lipstick labeled “Morange.”
It was an aggressive citrus color, so opaque it totally erased any pigment from the lip, replacing it with something so bright that it recalled Tony the Tiger on the otherwise boring box Frosted Flakes. It was seriously intense.
All of Henry’s models, including Agyness Deyn and Daisy Lowe, sported the Morange on the runway, and I tried wearing it to his after party before chickening out halfway through and swapping to a sparkly pink gloss (a result, I think, of Peaches G asking as nicely as possible, “What are you wearing?” when she saw me).
I never saw Morange again… until today, when the Chapurin runway photos from Paris landed in my inbox.
The designers seem to have offset their swishy goddess draping with some serious Tropicana lip color, the first I’ve seen in Paris, ever.
Do you think it’s worth trying again?

I think it seriously depends on what you’re wearing - either a contrasting color or neutral but too much and you look quite erm…clownish?

MAC’s Lipstick in Morange is one of my favorites! I’m a sucker for neon makeup, and this vivid lipcolor stands out on fair skin like mine AND compliments tan skin perfectly! It is DEFINITELY worth trying again, love.

I think it is wonderful if I can get the money I would love to get some, and I agree it goes wonderfully with fair skin especially with green and blue eyes and would make them pop then again it would work with brown it being a neutral would probably warm some brown eyes up. I think it’s worth trying again.

In the right shade, it looks fab. I think what the model is wearing looks awesome. Some shades, however, are not worth trying I’m sure ! Lol.

I think it’d look great on either very fair skin, or very dark skin. And with the right colors.

Obviously you have to be really careful about it but it doesn’t mean you can’t try it again. You just shouldn’t mix lots of colours. I would say to keep the black look and add the “Morange” lipstick to break it, like an accessory.

Fabulous! It looks so great with a tan. More morange please

great idea, but only blonds could pull this off. Maybe red heads.

I’ve owned this color for a year now and I love it! I just dab a bit and rub it in to create a stained effect but of course the heavy hand produces that neon look which can be fun for a night out as well.

YES! orange lipstick is always my favorite color. Growing up I loved looking at my grandmothers lipsticks because she wore beautiful shades of coral and ruby orange. I have lots of orange lipsticks, they look the best on olive skin tones like myself.

I definitely love orange lipstick, I love it because it looks good on pale complected people, and I’m pale, so it looks good on me. I remember wearing it when I was 13 years old, and loving it !!!

I love it. I dont think it will go with every skin tone, so I would not be able to wear it, but I think it looks awesome on the model. If you have a pale skin tone it is worth a try.
