Thanks to CMJ, we were too busy checking out Best Coast, the Smith Westerns, and Dum Dum Girls to report the passing of Mika Miko.

So it’s with sadness that we officially report the band’s death.

In its six years, Mika Miko tour up stages and speakers with its mile-a-minute punk rock.

A mainstay at L.A.’s The Smell, they went on to release two albums and tour with lo-fi luminaries like No Age and Abe Vigoda.

The band is survived by its five members, who are focusing on school (and, just maybe, finally getting that turkey sandwich). They will be missed.
