“Dear Faran,
Berlin is pretty amazing for street art.
Here are some samples of what makes me love this city more and more everytime i leave my flat!

Who Lives in a Runway Under the Sea?
Monday, November 30th, 2009
High Snobiety would like you to know that Karl Lagerfeld has designed his own version of Spongebob Square Pants
He is coated in gold pleather fabric and comes with his own pair of giant Chanel sunglasses.
The toy went up for auction at a WWF charity gala in Europe.
That’s World Wildlife Fund -
Not the thing with the wrestlers.

Fact: Cacti look cool.
Fact: Cacti are dangerous.
Fact: Writing “cacti” on a blog is fun.
Fact: You can have a cool looking cactus that isn’t a peril to your pets, your friends, and your drunken party guests.
It’s in the form of a candle sold at Moss -
Totally lifelike (I’ve seen it in person, so I can promise) and with a sweet, musky smell when you burn it.
Without the points.
On Tour… With The Gap
Monday, November 30th, 2009
You know those cute kids in the Gap commercials who jump around and scream holiday cheers?
They’ve just hit New York City.
And somehow, Izzy from Racked is spending the day with them, in their “tour bus.”
Is this ridiculous?
Totally.
But if they can get a crowd of grumpy New Yorkers (on a Monday!) to shout out “Christmas, Kwanzaa Hanukkah, Happy Do Whatever You Wanna-kah” we would pay to see it.
Or at least buy more 1969 bootcut jeans…
Hold It

Confession:
Lately, I’ve been stashing all my tech stuff (iPhone, earbuds, digital phone, memory stick…) in a TopShop cosmetics case.
I like having it all in one place, instead of rolling around my handbag, and just in case my Starbucks takes a tumble, I know my stay-dry stash will be protected.
It seems Anya Hindmarch has the same idea. The British handbag designer just launched this Gadgets case (in canvas) for $70.
It’s water resistant, big enough for several goodies from the Mac Store, and - obviously - really cute.
The Art of Shoes
Monday, November 30th, 2009
We’re intrigued by the Dorothy Shoe by Maloles (not Manolos!) at left.
Shaped like a derby but filled in like a sketchpad, the shoe takes the Oxford trend to a new and slightly wonky place, thanks to its delicate, complicated graphic scheme.
The shoe seems to be the next step after coloring in your Converse -
Time to grow up, but not really?
Fortunately, you have time to decide -
These kicks won’t come out until 2010.
America’s Next Top Petit Party Girls!
Monday, November 30th, 2009
Because we watch too much TV, we flipped through photos from our NYLON party last week and realized we had some special guests:
The finalists from America’s Next Top (super small, kinda skinny) Model!
That’s Erin on the left, Nicole in the middle (who won!), and Jen.
It seems the girls have kept up with their “makeovers” from the season, with Erin rocking bleached hair (and brows) and Nicole doing the Jessica Rabbit thing with her hair.
So if they were all at 1Oak together last Wednesday…
Does that mean they’re all in NYC at Wilhelmena now?
Good Idea or Bad Idea: Nude Nail Polish?
Monday, November 30th, 2009
We’re not talking “clear,” we’re talking Nude, a color that eliminates the pinky tones from underneath your nail bed and instead makes fingers totally the same color.
As someone with pitifully short nails (because, okay, I bite them), I kind of loved the monochrome effect it had.
But there will doubtless be critics who go, “Really? What’s the point of nude nail polish when you could just wear no nail polish?”
If you’re on the other side of the fence, the lacquer at left is called “Nude 2″ and I got it at Urban Outfitters for $3.50

Tee Off
Monday, November 30th, 2009
Our friend Emilia, at left, has a new project.
It’s called RAIN LOVE ON MANILA, and that cute t-shirt you see at left is just the tip of the iceberg.
The t-shirt costs $25, with all proceeds going to help the tropical storm recovery efforts in the Phillipines.
They’ve broken down the cost of the shirt online, so you can see where all the money from your donation goes.
Plus, it’s cute, and actually fits a girl’s body - something many tees just won’t do.
Interested in helping, or in getting a cute shirt for winter?
