Off The Wall

The film (Untitled) opens in a hotel lobby, with Adam Goldberg’s character pretending to like his brother’s latest piece.

It’s a running theme throughout the movie, with the bottom line being that hotel art is usually of the bland, boring variety.

Which is what makes the Sagamore Hotel in Miami particularly cool.

Not only is the artwork throughout the hotel continually rotated with the latest from young, emerging artists (right now there’s a lightbulb swing hanging in the lobby and a bunch of 3-D mushroom plastered above the check-in counter), but there are also inspirational quotes stenciled all over the walls.

On the 2nd floor, where I’m shacked up with the rest of the Diesel team, I’m reminded that “painting is just another way of keeping a diary.” (Thanks, Pablo Picasso!)

Even (Untitled)‘s Adrian would approve. xxRebecca
