Take a Spike
Behold my Jimmy Choo for H&M heels, at left.
They’re spike heels with a small platform and embroidered leather sides with perforated cut-outs.
Procured during H&M’s big New York party last week, they’re great-looking and trendy – and also impossible.
Because you see, dear readers, I have a secret I’ve been keeping from you all:
I cannot walk in heels.
Wedges, fine. Boots, absolutely, Platforms, usually. But the typical red carpet pump? The sole food of Victoria Beckham, Ashley Olsen, and the entire Balmain runway lineup?
Nope, sorry, can’t do it. But I’m going to learn, for these shoes. The only question is – how?
Leave your tips for walking in heels below (please. pretty please. before I fall and hurt myself). xo faran.

It’s okay to sway your hips when you walk in heels. Try walking with your hips going in an infinite sign. Or a sideways 8. Like a One hip, then the other, etc etc. Stand up straight. And make sure when you take steps to complete them by bending your knees and then straighening them! Otherwise, if your knees are always bent when walking in heels, you will look like a horse. Dont put all the pressure of your foot on the heel, walk on the ball of your foot. The heel is for added support.
Hope this helps! I do alot of runway, and this really helps me!
Good Luck! Great shoes by the way.

It’s all about confidence. It sounds like it wouldn’t possibly make a difference, but there’s not much technical advice on this one…. you just gotta walk with good posture and a little strut. Don’t be self-conscious about picking your feet up or making a little noise {it most likely does NOT look like you’re stomping, even though it feels that way}. The absolute worst thing is to try to shuffle along with your shoulders slumped – it’ll never work!

when you walk, go toes first instead of heel first!

Tips: Being that I used to be a ballerina, I find that plies have helped my calves. Maybe your legs need a bit of supporting? Work them out! 15 plies a day should do the trick.
Extra credit: Plies while wearing heels
Helps with your balance, as well making your legs leaner!
Seriously, ballet has helped this girl walk in skyscraper heels. It helped me keep my back straight, have stronger legs, and a good balance. Just sayin’.
PS: You may want to be close to something to support you when you do your plies the first time around (kitchen counter or a sturdy table ), just in case you, uhh, tumble.

It’s good that these shoes have platforms because it makes it less difficult for the foot to bend ! Then what you can do is adding the Scholl transparent soles. You put it inside the shoe at the front and it’s like little mattresses for your feet ! I live in France and I don’t know if they make it in the US but if they do they’ll be available in drugstores !
And before you slip in your shoes don’t forget to take a cold shower so your ankles and feet won’t get to big because of the heat !
That was foreplay but when you actually walk, it’ll be easier if you take small steps. When standing for some time try to put all your weight on the back of your body because when you walk most of your weght is concentrated on your toes ! And avoid cobblestones or make sure you have a handsome man on your arm you can hold on to !!
Good luck

Heels were designed, honestly, to make your butt look great, so feel it! It’s an amazing feeling when you figure out the strut, because, when you’re in heels, you MUST strut (and it makes it easier to walk in them!) And I agree with Lauren, you will always make noise, so take it and turn it to your advantage and make an entrance! Shoulders back, head held high and balanced, and swish your hips a bit. Because you’re hot!

Walk on the balls of your feet, putting the majority of your weight on the area right behind your big toe. Not only does this make balancing easier on pencil-thin stilettos, it also takes the pressure off of your shoe’s high heel, decreasing the likelihood of wearing the rubber “sole” through to that awful, metal spike. For me, it is easiest to walk on the balls of my feet while leaning slightly forward, as if walking into the wind or leaning toward someone in a hushed conversation. See if that works. Good luck!

Practice doing chorse like laundry and dishes in them before you step out in public. You get the practice AND you break them in.

In the world of fashion, a bad walk is completely unacceptable.
I would recommend practice, practice practice.
Wear them like you would bedroom slippers around the house. The more you practice at home the more comfortable you will be walking around in public.
Its all about the attitude.
Be confident. This is where the posture lecture from your childhood comes into play. Keep your spine straight and your shoulders square. The world is your runway, make sure you rock the show!
I hope that helps!

The key is to walk with good posture and lean slightly back so that the weight is coming from your heels, NOT the front of the shoe. Michael Kors wrote about this in Glamour, and it was demonstrated on Oprah…it works, I tried it. ALSO, very important, put non-skid adhesives on the soles of the shoe. (Find them in any shoe repair or larger shoe retailer like DSW.) This keeps the front of the shoe from slipping as you walk…it makes a HUGE difference and has prevented me from returning many a shoe that I bought and test-drove on store carpet, only to find I couldn’t walk on my apartment hardwood floors. Life saver.

I snatched up the same ones! The leather soles are very slippery and make walking difficult and dangerous! I took them to a shoemaker to get the soles replaced for some extra traction

1_Definitely toe first, your heels are NOT supposed to click.
2_ stick them in the freezer for 20 min before you wear them the first time , this breaks the leather in
3_ wear them at home while sitting at the computer / chilling on couch to get used to them

Hello!
Just introduce myself: I am a man (says my wife), I am 50 years old (hmm, that looks bad isn’t it?) and I am a terrible bad programmer (I say myself).
My hobbies: computer (of course), my 17 years old son and of course my wife. I like to play billiard, I do a very little bit and very simple programming in VB and I try to make a site for my billiard-club in the near future.

So what does a hard working really-need-a-holiday person pack when she goes on holiday? Most suitcases heading for the fun and sun will contain at least one pair of casual sandals, one pair of flip flops and one pair of evening sandals. They are a must in a hot country when closed shoes will make us feel considerably hot and uncomfortable!
