It’s been six years since Elefant’s hit single Misfit played on rock stations like Indie 103.3 in Los Angeles, and for weeks it seemed like the song was on steady repeat.

Now the band has a new album, a new-ish obsession with Lou Doillon, and a new claim to fame:

They played The Gramercy Hotel’s gilded Rose Bar last night – the same hotel where Stillwater wraps up their tour in Almost Famous – to a packed house of Blonde Young Things, making them not just a hot band but a bit of an uptown-girl obsession.

Spotted in the crowd:

Model Lauren Remington Platt, fashion queen bee Valerie Boster, Abaete designer Laura Poretzsky, trouble-making troubadors Jamie Burke and Jamie Biden, and NYLON babies Dani Stahl, Becka Diamond, and Shruti Ganguly.

As for me, I was in a blogger huddle with Natalie Hormilla (style.com), Britt Aboutaleb (fashionista.com) and Carson Griffiths (guest of a guest) – that is, until I basically crawled onstage with the bassist.
