Meet Delfina!
Last night, Opening Ceremony hosted a small party in their NYC store.
The guest of honor?
Delfina Delettrez Fendi, a jewelry designer from Italy in town to preview her latest collection.
“It’s very important to me that I make all my jewelry in Italy,” she told us, “Because it is important to support the place that gives you life and inspiration. And I like bringing unique things to people, so I try to use materials that are more rare in fine jewelry – I like mixing very expensive and very common things in every piece I produce. Right now, I’m very into using wood.”
And also, nail lacquer – she’s created a line of hand-shaped rings and cuffs that let you change the polish color on the nails with whatever favorite shade you have at home. “I have very short nails myself, so this was my way of giving into the fantasy of long, perfect nails!” she laughed.
As for her favorite music, that’s easy.
“I love The Horrors!” says Delfina. “I’m actually sad because they are playing a concert tonight in Rome, and I won’t be home to see them! I would really do anything to meet them.”
Ummm, Delfina? I think we can help you out with that.
