AllSaints Goes Cali…

Tuesday, November 24th, 2009

AllSaints may take its cues from the dark and edgy street style of London, but they’ve recently let some sunshine into their store.

That’s because their latest location is in Los Angeles, California, home of beach bunnies, TV stars, and Rodeo Drive.

If you want to visit their newest location, plug your GPS to 100 North Robertson Blvd. and don’t forget your sunglasses -

You may not need them once you get inside their iron-and-wood boutique, but getting there requires SPF 30 and a lot of UV protection!

Bunnies Take Over the World

Tuesday, November 24th, 2009

Oh no!

Another bunny!

And this one seems to be speaking Flemish!*

Look out!

($16.50 at Forever 21)

*It could also be speaking Dutch.  We’re very bad at bunny linguistics.  Cats, on the other hand, are easy to translate…

Be a NYLON Fashion Intern!

Tuesday, November 24th, 2009

Want to be a NYLON intern like Lou and Alexandra, at left?

We need some good ones for Spring.

Here’s the deal:

School credit is required. Don’t have a school? Make one up.

Applicants should be interested in pursuing a career in fashion editorial only - don’t apply to us if you want to be a writer, a music editor, a blogger, or a socialite. We will not pass your resume on. We will feed it to hamsters underneath the subway. That’s a promise.

You MUST be available a minimum of two FULL days a week (weekends don’t count) from January to May in NEW YORK CITY.

You can work at a fast pace in a highly organized manner.

You must have a great attitude.

You must be comfortable running boring, long, annoying errands in the cold with no complaints!

You must have a working knowledge of the fashion industry. That means when we say, “Who’s your favorite designer?” You don’t answer, “Coco Chanel, have you ever met her?”

Still want to do it?

Send a resume and BRIEF email to Molly:

You Can Stand Under My…

Tuesday, November 24th, 2009

Think of an American winter, and you’ll probably imagine getting pelted with snowballs.  But unless you’re in New England or the Rockies, the reality is you’ll probably get pelted with rain this December instead.

The British designers at London Undercover know all about downpours, and their latest collection shows how to beat them in style.

Besides a girlie take on the Union Jack flag (at left), they’ve made umbrellas with graphics of houndstooth tweed, eggs and bacon, and subway tiles (why? why not).

Also, side note:

Rihanna’s Umbrella may be the most famous pop song about a brolly, but Bus Stop by The Hollies is definitely a cuter / cooler tune…

Balloonacy

Tuesday, November 24th, 2009

We just got the 2010 lookbook for PRPS, and along with the shredded cutoffs and acid-washed jeans we love, there’s something even cooler to expect on shelves this Spring:

These balloon pants, held up with suspenders.

Made with lightweight denim, the pants are cuffed just above the knee, and pouf out like a ballgown or skirt.

They’re also pre-ripped and streaked, so you can get them dirty without feeling guilty about ruining your latest creation (good denim, after all, looks better with some wear and tear).

Do you want them?

Hold out until January, when you can hunt them down on the PRPS website!
