What Are You Wearing on New Years Eve?
While you eat holiday leftovers and watch every movie airing on TBS and Bravo (hello, Elf!), there’s probably a pressing question in the back of your mind:
“What am I gonna wear for New Years?”
The answer, of course, is much like expensive real estate:
It depends on location, location, location.
A house party might call for leggings and flats, while an “Are you on the list?” affair needs heels and a healthy cloud of attitude.
If you’re lucky enough to be somewhere warm (Los Angeles? Texas? Miami?), you can go straight to your favorite outfit.
Those of us in more frigid places (Toronto? New York? Chicago?) have to deal with outerwear, too.
So who’s wearing what on New Years?

December 28th, 2009 at 11:04 pm
a lady gaga inspired getup. :]
December 28th, 2009 at 11:06 pm
fyi, Texas is definitely NOT warm right now. It’s supposed to snow tomorrow…AGAIN.
December 28th, 2009 at 11:07 pm
It turns out that my Christmas present is my NYE outfit. This worked out pretty perfect because I am always having a fit trying to find that perfect outfit. I live in South Texas, so the weather is unpredictable and it will be easier to rely on layers. My uncle bought me a Rodarte dress from their newest collection in Target. I first fell in love with the collection on your website and knew I had to have that dress. It is the black and grey cheetah print sequined dress. I think I will be wearing it with colored tight, probably pink, and some flats. I am only going to a house party and i really prefer comfort so I can last the whole night.
December 28th, 2009 at 11:08 pm

December 28th, 2009 at 11:10 pm
Probably some cocktail dress, black lace tights, and my Christian Lous. I have a gorgeous off-white cowl-neck, knee-length thick coat from Gap, and a vintage Oscar de la Renta glittery gold scarf. Plus olive-green elbow-length lace-knit gloves from H&M.
December 28th, 2009 at 11:12 pm

Well I recieved an email from Nylon with the Rodarte for Target collection and i pretty much had a spaz attack….I had to have the leopard print lace dress. So i began to beg and pleaded for my mother to buy me it for me. I successfully got the dress and it is AMAZING! I mean like when i look at it the dress just intoxicates my brain and that is all i can think about. But the only problem is i cant seem to find the right boots for it! I want the perfect pair of boots…Im thinking they should be thigh high or ankle, but nothing inbetween. I would have to say this is one of my favorite outfit i have ever worn… This is my 2010 year so im taking by storm….haha
December 28th, 2009 at 11:21 pm
I will be wearing nothing but a smile on New Year’s Eve.
December 28th, 2009 at 11:23 pm
I’m going to wear a mini purple dress with a black belt under my chest it is strapless & it has shape to it with some black pumps. & a black & white coat on top with a pair of white earings & my hair up it a stylish kind of bun
December 28th, 2009 at 11:24 pm
I’m going to where my newest 510 skinny jeans – they’re blue
And I’m gonna wear this beautiful vintage jacket I got earlier this month at that cute store in SoHo. It’s Dior and it’s cute!
And just an old tee shirt to make it all seem very unplanned-I-look-fab-without-even-trying.
Oh and I have that cute monocle I want to wear as a necklace, that’ll be it for the accessories.
And my DKNY boots will do for the shoes!
2010 is going to have an awesome start!
December 28th, 2009 at 11:26 pm
I got this GORGE short, poofy dress from The Clothing Company strictly for NYE. It’s strapless with shimmery gold embroidered flowers all over; with a black lace under-lining. I’m wearing black sheer tights with either my black bootie heels or just black pointed flats. Accompanied by gold nail polish, of course! Gonna look fierce this New Years.
December 28th, 2009 at 11:35 pm
Well, it’s going to be a sunny 97 degrees in Melbourne so am thinking my retro C&M swimsuit, a vintage polka dot scarf and a sarong sounds pretty well perfect. NYE outfit = tick.
December 28th, 2009 at 11:36 pm
I wish it was warm here in Big D. (Dallas, TX). It is going to snow. Currently, I have no clue what I am going to wear. I still might return to my favorite. My little black vintage crush velvet dress with stilettos. And to add a NYE flare: pair of glittery/ sequences tight or sweater.
December 28th, 2009 at 11:37 pm
a black long-sleeved bcbg sweaterdress, black cutout wedge booties, and some sort of fun tights…i’m thinking electric blue!

two options:

OR
oversized teeshirt printed with a bespectacled monster, boyfriend blazer, then aforementioned leggings/cowboy boots.
December 28th, 2009 at 11:44 pm

December 29th, 2009 at 12:07 am
Well, California is California, so… it’s not cold. It’s not super warm, so it’s impossible to wear just a dress, but still…
I am thinking about a white dress with a skelleton printed on it, with some killer ankleboots and a leather jacket just to get to the house party.
Pearl earrings, a simple makeup and my hair… Just let the hair be whatever it wants to be!
December 29th, 2009 at 12:13 am
Designer jeans of course – probably Diesel Lowky B.C.’s.
December 29th, 2009 at 12:16 am

December 29th, 2009 at 12:28 am

December 29th, 2009 at 12:37 am
Sometimes with sequins! I’ve got a great miniskirt that has a gradient pattern of silver and blue sequins. I’m going to wear them with some leather over-the-knee heeled boots.
Now, I just need a snazzy top…
December 29th, 2009 at 12:58 am
I’ll be wearing my grad dress from years ago. It was 600 so I was definitely gonna buy a dress I wouldn’t only wear once! It’s not blue or poofy or anything. Its short and black and flowy and silk, the back ties up and I had it custom fit! http://photos-c.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-sf2p/v76/207/45/783725353/n783725353_533394_5388.jpg

A fuyu hanten!
Traditional Japanese workmen’s coats or jackets. Made of fine quality padded cotton, this kimono-style short, slip-over coat that in the past often featured the employer’s crest or name embroidered on the back as an early form of advertising. Hanten make excellent, warm outdoor coats for picnics, sports events or the garden.

Something sparkly! A sequined dress I have yet to buy and probably sparkly black pumps.
December 29th, 2009 at 4:38 am
It’s not even warm in Houston, although people in NY would consider it warm because it’s above 40.
December 29th, 2009 at 7:07 am
Good on you Ryan Mat, I love the gold skinny tie.
In the crazy sales I just bought a Milk and Honey playsuit, its 50s inspired with a cinched waist, white with black polkadots, a sharp black collar, big shiny black buttons and beautifully cut sleeves, teamed with black heels and black and gold accessories <3
However I’m in Sydney, and it the weather does decide to go bad as forecasted, I have my vintage Anthea Crawford tangerine jacket with gold buttons to team with some jeans

December 29th, 2009 at 1:45 pm
Love love love love love this pink poofy dress. I want THAT. And lots of sparkles.
December 29th, 2009 at 2:21 pm
I’ll wear fake leather dress and tiny grey sweater, well, it is supposed to fit for the dresscode ‘erotica’ ;DDD mum doesn’t know about that, luckily
December 29th, 2009 at 2:42 pm
I’m torn between a royal blue mini-dress that is loaded with sparkles, or a classic little black dress with a fitted bodice and a semi-poofy skirt.
Either one will be paired with sparkly accessories and my Cole Haan heels ( It’s cold and icy in Boston. My feet need to be sturdy and comfy )
Decisions, decisions…
December 29th, 2009 at 3:20 pm

The Mexican peso has had a virtual collapse in the past few months and bargains are everywhere. A really great dinner for two in an attractive and upscale restaurant in Chihuahua (Mexican City and word meaning: rat on steroids) including shared appetizer, shared desert, two HUGE T-Bone steak dinners, at least 3 drinks and tip came to $35.00. The downside to shopping is that there isn’t much to choose from…..unless you want junk or boots. This much about Mexico is true: If it’s on the endangered species list, the Mexicans make boots out of it.

All certainly true, but I don’t support what you say myself. I will stick the more traditional view. But I definitely support your right to say what you want. Fascinating anyway.
July 18th, 2010 at 9:00 pm
Fascinating! But you might want to check your comment queue more frequently. You seem to be taking on some dodgy comments. I had exactly the same issue myself. So now I check everything carefully.

I do a lot of computer repair, and most of it is done remotely. I have tried stuff like remote desktop connection or VNC but teamviewer comes out on top all the time. My client can just run the portable version and we are away.

The katana is the weapon that has come to be synonymous with samurai, metaphorically speaking. Bushido teaches that the katana is the samurai’s soul and sometimes a samurai is pictured as entirely dependent on the weapon for fighting.

Earlier today I found a site with a lot into this subject, and doing a lot of personal research. At the end of the day, like most people, I am trying to build a lean, strong, muscular body. The following blog is extremely useful for additional follow up information on the subject and I particularly found the section on maximuscle cyclone reviews very helpful indeed.

There are various types of trendy sandals that come in different colors, styles and they’re made with different materials. However, there’s one kind of sandal that somehow stands above the rest in getting people’s attention: the boot sandals.
