Prada’s “I Die, Bananas” Moment

The new Prada ads are out, and they’re amazing.
Besides showcasing the new collection – which includes shantung hot pants, thank you very much – there’s also a close-up of the makeup, seen at left.
Beauty Director Holly can’t place the burnt orange lipstick at left, so she suggests checking out Makeup Forever or M.A.C’s extensive palette, and then mixing some stuff together yourself.
Don’t worry about the gloss – you can always add a coat of super cheap stuff (or even Vaseline) afterwards for the same effect.

LOVE orange lipstick! I fell in love when I did a photoshoot for revolveclothing.com and lookbook.nu and they put it on me. I like it a less burnt more orange shade though. Can’t wait for spring!

I love me some orange lipstick! Morange from MAC is hands down the best, pair with a red lip liner for extra definition and a little extra bronzer and WOWZA, you will look like you just got home from a Cuban vacation!

To be honest, looks like the picture was desaturated in photoshop, which therefore would take red red lipstick and dull it to this burnt orange. Her skin and hair give away the fact this picture has been manipulated, and thus the color is not what is was pre-photoshop. Just my take on it.

That color orange lipstick is not attractive, not even on that model.

Please take a look at one of the magazine ads. This photo has distorted the color. The real color is incredible, especially paired with the Lucite glasses and white clothes.
