Undercover Reporting Rule #1: Lay Off the Chanel

Gawker’s furious that The New York Times sent an “undercover” reporter to pose as a homeless person this week.

She was researching the way the city keeps track of its (actually, not-faking-it) homeless population.

Whether or not it was an ethical (or tasteful) approach to the story, the reporter at left needed a little more help.

It’s true that many homeless women have access to warm coats and hats, as she wears at left.

But is it really a good idea to pair that ensemble with Chanel Nail Polish?

Uh, no.  And although there are many imitations of Chanel’s jade lacquer on the market, we’re betting none of them are set up with a mani-pedi station underneath a bridge, in a subway tunnel, or in the back corner of a soup kitchen.

Volunteer to (actually) help the homeless here.

    Hi all

Another newbie here. I’ve joined on the recommendation of a friend on here. Looks like there are lots of interesting threads.
I love gardening and messing about with the camera so you should see me joining in with those for starters.

Peace out, John from Personal Loans
