Tag! Bunnies Take Over the World
Thursday, January 28th, 2010
Spotted:
A rabbit on a toilet (on a wheatpaste) in the Lower East Side.
We’re not quite sure how it got there (on the toilet, not on the wall), but we know this:
We were thisclose to calling this post “Little Bunny Poo Poo.”
But, you know…
We’re all adults here.
Okay, we’re all trying to be adults here.
If you have graffiti, send it over:

Behold, an eBay screen shot!
This person is selling a striped Marc by Marc shirt for $24.99
Instead of a photo of the top, they have… drumroll…
Gemma Ward and MisShape Geordon Nicol, DJing together, circa 2005.
Because this is honestly the best way to sell a tee?!
Float Like a Butterfly
Thursday, January 28th, 2010
TopShop’s new butterfly sunglasses feature some obvious benefits:
They look like Mary Kate Olsen’s.
They come in two shades.
The only thing missing?
The Prada pixie handbag that’s supposed to go with them!
Alas.
Fashion Foodies?
Thursday, January 28th, 2010
Design Fetish and NotCot are in on an amazing Fashion Week joke:
The “McFancy,” a special cafe in New York, London, Milan, and Paris that sells designer junk food.
Alas the actual munchies – like the BurBurger, at left – don’t really exist.
But if they did, might we also suggest…
A Juicy Couture juice box?
A cup of Chanel hot Coco?
You get it…
Charmed?

Yesterday, we explored the persistence of charm bracelets.
Well Played, JD Salinger
Thursday, January 28th, 2010
The legendary author died today, at age 91.
Among his works were Catcher in the Rye, For Esmé – With Love and Squalor, and Nine Stories.
Our personal favorite, Franny and Zooey, centers on a pair of teen misfits whose wealth and intelligence drive them into funny monologues, heartbreaking relationships, and lots of beer and wine.
The actress Zooey Deschanel was named for the main character, who is, in fact, a boy.
One of the best discussions we’ve ever had on this blog was when it was suggested that Holden Caufield isn’t heroic, just whiny and annoying. The debate was relevant, fast, and heated, and it happened almost sixty years after the book first came out.
Go with God, Mr. Salinger.
Paging Captain Obvious: Vampires Are Cute
Thursday, January 28th, 2010
Fred Flare produced this little reminder in the form of a t-shirt.
Just in case you don’t already know vampires are cute.
And bats are funny.*
And t-shirts are easy to wear.
*(wait, bats are funny, right?)
What’s Your Home Sick TV Show?
Thursday, January 28th, 2010
It’s the middle of January, which means some of you have colds, flus, or massive hangovers.
If you’re home sick on the couch today, it probably means you’re watching your Home Sick TV show.
As a little kid, mine was The Smurfs.
As a teenager, it was Sex and the City.
Now, it’s reruns of the goofy ’90s classic Frasier.
What’s yours?
xo Faran
(who is indeed home sick on the couch)
