Yesterday, we explored the persistence of charm bracelets.

Today, Marc Jacobs gives us a new spin on them:These M x MJ sandals, with a metal charm bracelet swapped in for the usual leather ankle strap.

The bracelet has hearts, stars, and doves, all painted to match this season’s color palette (violet, tomato red, slate blue, and white).The sad thing is, the straps aren’t detachable – it’s wear them on your feet or nothing.But knowing Marc, he just might take the leftovers and sell them as wristlets next season…

Our personal favorite, Franny and Zooey, centers on a pair of teen misfits whose wealth and intelligence drive them into funny monologues, heartbreaking relationships, and lots of beer and wine.

One of the best discussions we’ve ever had on this blog was when it was suggested that Holden Caufield isn’t heroic, just whiny and annoying. The debate was relevant, fast, and heated, and it happened almost sixty years after the book first came out.
